Who doesn’t love being able to wear comfy clothes and shoes and still look pretty darn good? It’s called Athleisure and it is a wonderful thing if you do it right.
Sure, wearing comfy sweatpants or leggings sounds easy, but do you know how to wear it without looking like you just rolled out of bed and didn’t bother? It’s frustrating because if it looks easy, it should be easy. And it is easy – after you get the basics down, of course.
Step 1- This might be kind of obvious, but Athleisure should be kept to casual outings. Don’t wear athleisure to work, or special events.
Step 2 – Find a pair of sneakers or tennis shoes that you would wear specifically for the way they look. For example, Adidas all stars, Nike Roche, Adidas Tubulars, Vans sliders.
Step 3 – The perfect sweater or pullover. For this post, I’m wearing a Polo Ralph Lauren pullover. I oversized mine, because it seemed very small in person – Normally I’d wear an XS or S and I sized up to a Medium.
Step 4 – Athleisure in the winter calls for the perfect coat. I prefer long, heavy coats to complete my athleisure look.
